History and background Being involved in the construction of houses since 1992, most of which being turn key projects it became apparent that a gap in the stainless steel balustrading market was developing - an extremely attracttive, versatile, low maintenance product affordable only to a limited number of homeowners. With some investigation into this market it became clear that it was not necessary for this product to be so unaffordable and therefore became relatively easy to establish a firm foothold in the market.
Installation We are a Pretoria based company but, dependent on the scope of work, can carry out installations throughout the country. We chose to specialise in the field, limiting our product range, thus enabling us to offer an affordable installation without compromising our quality.
Over and above the high standard/grade of material we use in our installations we maintain a high standard of quality in our installations by ensuring that our teams are at all times skilled in the type of installation they have been instructed to complete. All new staff members will first accompany a qualified team until such time that they are properly trained and have reached an adequate degree of competency. Finally, in order to complete an installation to a high standard the equipment used on site and in preparation of components must be of the same exacting standards. All of our components are manufactured using automated machinery thus ensuring uniformity throughout. Equipment used by all teams are of a high quality and have been selected specifically to cope with all aspects as well as imported cleaning and polishing equipment to ensure a high standard of finishing where ever we work.
Method of Installation Method of installation will be determined by the style or design of proposed balustrades. Our preferred means of installation is to core drill a 40mm diameter hole in the surface the balustrade is to be fitted to and then by means of a waterproof resin "glue" a 38mm diameter stainless steel post in the hole (we can secure up to a 100mm diameter stainless steel post in this way).
Any installation regardless of size can be carried out, be it a foot rail around a bar or a multi-level apartment block. In order to offer a superior product we place emphasis on various factors.
Standard of material
Note: Installations at the coast will be done in grade 316 s/s Should we fix the balustrade to a vertical face, a laser cut stainless steel flange is used (polished to match the rest of the installation) and secured with either bolt, cap screw, counter sunk fastener, etc - all fastener used are also stainless steel. Balustrades fixed to timber decks, treads, etc. are done so using a double flange viz. One on top and second below the timber.
Components With now nearly 10 years experience in this industry, what became apparent was the varying standard in stainless steel balustrade installations. Due to the specialised nature of installation it is necessary to utilise expensive cleaning and finishing tools and equipment. Unfortunately, this equipment is not always affordable to all contractors resulting in the anability to offer the right standard of finish. It was with this in mind that Style Balustrading opened a second division focusing on the supply of components to the industry. With the latest in engineering technology, being used in the machining of components for use in our installations, we had the edge on most if not all of our competitors. These components allowed us to average in excess of a thousand meter of balustrading being installed monthly without compromising on quality. The components employed in our installations took most of the problem areas away pertaining to snags, etc. Unlike a lot D.I.Y systems our component based system can be used in both residential as well as commercial installations without running the risk of "falling apart", as seen with numerous alternate D.I.Y systems, over time.
Style Balustrading Components With the establishment of the new division the components, used in our installations, are now available to all contractors as well as to the public. This will give contractors, making use of these components, the advantage over their competitors, allowing the complete projects with the confidence knowing that areas most commonly snagged will be gladly accepted by project managers, architects, and more importantly, their clients. A wide range of components including pre-drilled posts, end-caps, base platees as well as a range of fittings used in wire rope/cable installations are available at very affordable prices.
Peace of Mind With the range of precision manufactured components available to contractors, all home owners, builders, architects developers, etc. can be guaranteed an installation of the highest standard by insisting on the use of these components. In addition, should one so choose, all material necessary to complete an installation can be purchased directly from Styles Component division reducing the risk of "lost deposits". This will also ensure the correct grade of material being supplied and the only aspect to be sourced will the the labour. |
